PAINT CHIP ON HOOD DUE TO GRILLE CONTACT

APPLICABILITY:
INTRODUCTION:
Some 2010 - 2012 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a condition where paint chips or a rub mark may appear due to contact at the corner edges of the hood where the front grille meets. This condition applies to vehicles with Chrome Grilles ONLY. Replace the grille assembly following the procedures in this bulletin to address this condition.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect for paint chips on hood and confirm paint chip location is on the corner edges of the grille and hood. See Figure 1.
2. If condition does NOT appear in the same location as Figure 1. STOP. This bulletin does NOT apply.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Refer to the Repair manual for removal and installation instructions.

2. Sublet to body shop for proper refinishing of paint chips on the hood.
