APPLICABILITY:

INTRODUCTION:

Some Tundra vehicles may exhibit a condition where water is leaking into the upper rear cab area from outside of the High Mount Stop Lamp housing assembly. Water may be seen coming into the cab around the rear of the headliner and rear glass area. Replace the High Mount Stop Lamp assembly to address this condition.

This TSB applies to:

^ ALL 2007 - 2009 MY TMMI built Tundra vehicles.
^ ALL 2007 - 2011 MY TMMTX built Tundra vehicles
^ 2012 MY TMMTX built Tundra vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Water test vehicle to confirm water is leaking from the High Mount Stop Lamp assembly.





See Figure 1 for examples of water leak and testing procedure.

Is water leaking from the High Mount Stop Lamp assembly?

^ YES - Go to step 2.

^ NO - STOP. This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue with water leak diagnosis.

2. Remove and replace the High Mount Stop Lamp assembly.

Refer to the ETAS/TIS library applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

^ 2007 - 2012 Tundra:
Vehicle Exterior - Lighting (ext) - "Lighting: High Mounted Stop Light Assembly: Removal / Installation"

3. Water test vehicle in same manner to confirm water leak is no longer present.

4. Inspect and replace any interior components that may have been damaged due to the water leak.
