Compass Calibration Procedure

1. Turn on parking lights.

2. Cycle the ignition switch to "IG-ON" and push and hold the "MODE" button about 2 seconds until a number (01-15) appears on the display.

3. Push the "Up" or "Down" button, referring to the map in Figure 4, to select the number of the zone where the vehicle is currently located.

4. If a dot appears on the left side of direction display perform steps 5 and 6. If a dot does not appear calibration is complete.

5. Start the engine and push the "MODE" button for about 2 seconds.

6. Drive the vehicle slowly at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less in a circle until the direction is displayed. If there is NOT enough space to drive in a circle turn the vehicle around as shown doing two three-point turns in succession.

Once the direction is displayed and the dot on the compass display disappears the calibration is complete.

NOTE

^ Do NOT perform calibration of the compass in a place where the Earth's magnetic field is subject to interference (underground parking, under a steel tower, between buildings, roof parking, near a railroad crossing, near a large vehicle, etc.)

^ During calibration, do NOT operate electric systems (moon roof, power windows, etc.) as they may interfere with the calibration.
