Cylinder Head Assembly
CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RHThe cylinder head bolts are tightened in 3 progressive steps.
Apply a light coat of engine oil to the threads and under the heads of the cylinder head bolts.
Step 1
Using a 10 mm bi-hexagon wrench, install and uniformly tighten the 10 cylinder head bolts with the plate washers in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 36 Nm (367 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)
Step 2
Mark each cylinder head bolt head with paint as shown in the illustration.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts 90° in the sequence shown in step 1.
Step 3
Tighten the cylinder head bolts another 90° in the sequence shown in step 1.
Check that the painting marks are now facing rearward.
Uniformly install the 2 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

CYLINDER HEAD SET BOLT
Measuring point 94 mm (3.70 in.) for intake side bolt
Measuring point 89 mm (3.50 in.) for exhaust side bolt
Standard diameter 10.85 to 11.00 mm (0.427 to 0.433 in.)
Minimum diameter 10.6 mm (0.417 in.)
CYLINDER HEAD

Install the 18 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
For bolt A - Torque 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
Except bolt A - Torque 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)
Tighten the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)
CAMSHAFT HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
Install the 18 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
For bolt A - Torque 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
Except bolt A - Torque 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)
Tighten the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)
