P3107-213 - Airbag ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

- The power management control ECU (HV CPU) detects a problem in the collision signal line from the center airbag sensor assembly and alerts the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.

Result:





(e) Turn the power switch off.

B -- GO TO DTC CHART Airbag System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

(a) Turn the power switch on (READY).

(b) Connect an oscilloscope between the center airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.

5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

(a) Check for intermittent problems Check For Intermittent Problems.

OK -- REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU Components

6. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect connector L16 from the center airbag sensor assembly.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(c) Connect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.

NG -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Components
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect connector L5 from the power management control ECU.

(b) Disconnect connector L16 from the center airbag sensor assembly.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
