Installation
AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE HUB: INSTALLATION
HINT
* Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Apply MP grease to a new O-ring.
(b) Install the new O-ring to the rear axle hub and bearing.
NOTICE:
Do not damage the O-ring.
(c) Install the axle hub and bearing to the rear axle carrier with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 86 Nm (877 kgf-cm, 64 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the rear upper control arm with the bolt and nut.
(b) Align the matchmarks on the No. 1 rear suspension arm and adjust cam.
(c) Install the No. 1 rear suspension arm with the bolt and nut.
* Bolt A
Torque : 250 Nm (2549 kgf-cm, 185 ft-lbf)
* Bolt B
Torque : 185 Nm (1886 kgf-cm, 137 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the No. 2 rear suspension arm to the rear axle with the nut.
Torque : 130 Nm (1326 kgf-cm, 96 ft-lbf)
(b) Install a new cotter pin.
4. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH
(a) Using a 39 mm socket wrench, install the rear axle shaft nut LH.
Torque : 340 Nm (3467 kgf-cm, 251 ft-lbf)
(b) Install the adjusting lock cap and new cotter pin.
5. INSTALL REAR HUB GREASE CAP LH
(a) Install the rear hub grease cap LH.
NOTICE:
Mark sure to securely fit the bearing to the axle hub.
6. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, install the rear speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque : 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf)
NOTICE:
* Make sure that there are no pieces of iron or other foreign matter attached to the sensor tip part.
* While inserting the speed sensor into the knuckle hole, do not strike or damage the sensor tip part.
* After installing the speed sensor, make sure that there is no clearance or foreign matter between the sensor stay part and the knuckle.
* Make sure that there is no foreign matter attached to the magnetic rotor.
(b) Connect the rear speed sensor connector.
7. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY
