C1420 - Acceleration Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the skid control ECU detects an abnormality in the difference between the acceleration sensor value and the control value estimated based on the yaw rate sensor, steering angle sensor and speed sensor signals.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CONFIRM YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR TYPE

(a) Confirm the yaw rate and acceleration sensor type.

Result:





B -- CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION

(a) Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has been installed properly Installation.

OK:

The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.

The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.

HINT
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing parts Problem Symptoms Table.

NG -- INSTALL YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR CORRECTLY Installation

OK -- REPLACE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Removal

3. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

(a) Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly Installation.

OK:

The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.

The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.
