THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: REMOTE ENGINE STARTER SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK
1. REMOTE ENGINE START FUNCTION
NOTICE:
* The operation distance varies according to how customers hold the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly or where it is used.
* Strong external radio waves or other frequency noise may interfere with the remote engine start operation distance.
(a) Point the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly at the vehicle, and press and release the lock switch twice within 2 seconds. Immediately, press and hold the lock switch for 3 seconds, then the engine starts and the hazard warning lights flash once after 3 seconds. After that, the hazard warning lights continue flashing for 10 seconds.
HINT
The engine starts by remote engine start when all of the following conditions are met:
* The shift lever is in P.
* All doors are closed.
* All doors are locked.
* The engine hood is closed.
* The engine switch is off.
* The engine switch is not pressed.
* The engine speed is not input.
* Vehicle speed is not input.
* Brake pedal is not depressed.
* The theft deterrent system is not alarm sounding state.
2. REMOTE ENGINE STOP FUNCTION
(a) Press the unlock switch while the engine is running. After that, the engine stops and the hazard warning lights flash twice.
(b) Press and hold the lock switch for 2 seconds or more. After that, the engine will stop and the hazard warning lights will flash once.
HINT
The engine will stop when any of the following conditions is met:
* 10 minutes elapse after the engine is started.
* The shift lever is moved from P.
* Any door is opened.
* Any door is unlocked.
* The engine hood is opened.
* The engine switch is turned on (ACC or IG).
* The engine speed is kept less than 200 rpm for 40 seconds.
* The engine speed is kept more than 3000 rpm for 3 seconds.
* Vehicle speed is input (more than 5 km/h (3 mph)).
* Brake pedal is depressed.
* The theft deterrent system is alarm sounding state.
