Applicability
Introduction
Some 2009 - 2012 model year Corolla vehicles may exhibit a condition where the front door glass window run is pulled out of the door frame during operation of the window. This may also result in the window binding and becoming inoperable. Replace the door glass run following the procedures in this bulletin to address this condition.
Production Change Information
This bulletin applies to:
All 2009 - 2010 NUMMI built Corolla vehicles (WMI=1NX).
2009 - 2012 TMMC and TMMMS built Corolla vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

Repair Procedure
1. Verify the condition by inspecting for any binding of the window during operation caused by the door glass run.
NOTE
Perform the same procedure for the left and right front door window glass runs.
2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. Remove the front door window regulator handle assembly (without power window).
A. Using a clip remover, remove the snap ring.
B. Remove the front door window regulator handle assembly and front door regulator inside handle plate.
4. Remove the front door inside handle bezel.
Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the 3 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel.
5. Remove the front armrest upper base panel (without power window).
A. Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the 2 clips and 6 claws, and remove the front armrest upper base panel.
B. With power door lock: Disconnect the connector.
6. Remove the front armrest upper base panel (with power window).
A. Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the 2 clips and 6 claws.
B. Disconnect the connector and remove the front armrest upper base panel.
7. Remove the front door trim board sub-assembly.
A. Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the claw and disconnect the door armrest cap.
B. Remove the 2 screws.
C. Using a clip remover, disengage the 10 clips. Figure 8.
D. Disengage the 5 claws and separate the front door trim board sub-assembly from the front door inner glass weatherstrip. See Figure 8.
8. Disconnect the front door inside handle sub-assembly.
Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable.
9. Remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish (without front No. 2 speaker).
Disengage the clip and clamp, and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.
10. Remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish (with front No. 2 speaker).
A. Disengage the clip and clamp.
B. Disconnect the connector and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.
11. Remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door panel.
12. Remove the front door service hole cover.
A. With power door lock.
Disconnect the connector.
B. Remove the front door service hole cover.
13. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly with cover.
A. Disconnect the clamp and connector.
B. Remove the 3 bolts.
C. Disengage the claw and remove the outer rear view mirror assembly with cover.
14. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly (without power window).
NOTICE
After the bolts are removed, do NOT allow the door glass to fall.
A. Install the front door window regulator handle assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
B. Remove the front door window regulator handle assembly.
C. Remove the 2 bolts.
D. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly.
15. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly (with power window).
A. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
B. Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
C. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and power window regulator master switch assembly.
D. Remove the 2 bolts.
E. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly.
16. Remove the front door glass run. Figure 20.
Installation Procedure
1. Install new front door glass run and confirm window run is properly seated and aligned in the door frame.
2. Assemble the door in the reverse order of disassembly.
Window Glass Bolt:
Torque: 8 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in*lbf)
Mirror:
Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in*lbf)
3. Verify the condition has been addressed by operating the window up and down and check for any pulling of the window run from the door frame.
