DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends the microphone signal from the inner rear view mirror assembly (telephone microphone) to the radio receiver assembly.

It also supplies power source from the radio receiver assembly to the inner rear view mirror assembly (telephone microphone).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the E85 radio receiver assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the R6 inner rear view mirror assembly and E85 radio receiver assembly connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE)

(a) Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.





(b) Reconnect the inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

(d) Connect an oscilloscope to terminals R6-11 (MI1+) and R6-12 (MI1-) of the inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

(e) Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using an oscilloscope.
