Applicability

Introduction

Some 2012 model year Prius and Prius PHV vehicles may exhibit loose fabric on the front edge of the center console lid. Replace the Center Console Lid to address this condition.

Overview: Examples of Loose Fabric Condition

Disassembly Procedure





1. Remove the console rear end panel by disengaging the ten (10) claws.
2. Remove the console compartment sub-assembly.





A. Using a screwdriver, pull out the box door hinge shafts.

B. Remove the console compartment door sub-assembly.

NOTE

^ Figure 3 shown is for the LH side.

^ Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.





3. Remove console compartment door pad sub-assembly by disengaging the 8 claws.

4. Install new console compartment door pad sub-assembly by engaging the 8 claws.

Reassembly Procedure

1. Install console compartment door sub-assembly.





A. Temporarily install the console compartment door sub-assembly.





B. Push in the box door hinge shafts by hand as Figure 6. far as possible.

C. Using pliers, push in the box door hinge shafts completely and install the console compartment door sub-assembly.

NOTE

^ Figure 3 shown is for the LH side.

^ Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.





2. Install console rear end panel by engaging the ten (10) claws.

3. Confirm proper operation of center console lid.
