Accessory Meter Does Not Illuminate

DESCRIPTION

* This circuit provides power to the accessory meter assembly.

* The cruise information display of the accessory meter shows the vehicle information input into the combination meter assembly. The display can be changed by using the drive monitor switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the malfunction of the accessory meter.

B -- INSPECT DRIVE MONITOR SWITCH
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect D50 the accessory meter assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY Removal

3. INSPECT DRIVE MONITOR SWITCH

(a) Remove the drive monitor switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE DRIVE MONITOR SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVE MONITOR SWITCH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D68 drive monitor switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the D18 combination meter assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the D50 accessory meter assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the D18 combination meter assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. REPLACE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the accessory meter assembly with a new or a known good one Removal.

OK:

The operation of accessory meter assembly returns to normal.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- END
