Disassembly

ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: HOOD: DISASSEMBLY

HINT
For bolts without torque specifications, check the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.

1. REMOVE CENTER HOOD CUSHION

(a) Remove the 2 center hood cushions.





2. REMOVE HOOD BUMPER CUSHION

(a) Rotate counterclockwise and remove the 2 hood bumper cushions.





3. REMOVE HOOD TO RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 7 clips and hood to radiator support seal.





NOTICE:
If the clips are damaged or fall off, replace them with new clips.

4. REMOVE HOOD BULGE (w/ Hood Bulge)

(a) Remove the 4 nuts.





(b) Disengage the 3 clips from the back side of the hood panel.





(c) Disengage the 3 guides and remove the hood bulge together with the air intake guide as shown in the illustration.





5. REMOVE HOOD AIR INTAKE GUIDE (w/ Hood Bulge)

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the hood air intake guide.





6. REMOVE NO. 1 HOOD BULGE PROTECTOR (w/ Hood Bulge)

(a) Remove the 2 No. 1 hood bulge protectors.





7. REMOVE NO. 2 HOOD BULGE PROTECTOR (w/ Hood Bulge)

(a) Remove the 2 No. 2 hood bulge protectors.





8. REMOVE NO. 3 HOOD BULGE PROTECTOR (w/ Hood Bulge)

(a) Remove the No. 3 hood bulge protector.





9. REMOVE WASHER NOZZLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the opposite side.





(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the washer nozzle sub-assembly.

(b) Disconnect the washer hose.

10. REMOVE WASHER HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Separate the washer hose.





(b) Disengage the 3 guides and remove the washer hose.

(c) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the washer hose clamps.





(d) Disconnect the washer hose.





(e) Disengage the claw and remove the windshield washer hose joint.





11. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE Removal

12. REMOVE NO. 2 HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR Adjustments

13. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts.





(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly, then remove the hood lock assembly.





14. REMOVE HOOD SUPPORT

(a) Remove the hood support.





(b) Remove the grommet.

(c) Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 claws and remove the hood stay holder.





15. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts, then remove the hood lock control cable protector sub-assembly.





16. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 claws.





(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.





17. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Tie a piece of string to the tip of the hood lock control cable assembly.





HINT
Use a piece of string which is longer than the hood lock control cable assembly.

(b) Remove the hood lock control cable assembly referring to the illustration.





NOTICE:
Leave the string inside the wire harness grommet for the installation of the hood lock control cable assembly.
