DESCRIPTION
Key reminder warning buzzer on:
Ignition switch is off, key is inserted, and driver side door is open.
Seat belt warning buzzer on:
When ignition switch is ON, seat belt is unfastened, and vehicle speed is 20 km/h (12.4 mph) or more.
Parking brake warning buzzer on:
When ignition switch is ON, parking brake is operating, and vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3.1 mph) or more.

1. CHECK WARNING BUZZER
(a) Check that the key reminder, seat belt and parking brake warning buzzers sound.

C -- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (INPUT WAVEFORM)
A -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
2. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the unlock warning switch assembly.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(c) Reinstall the unlock warning switch assembly.
NG -- REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the U1 unlock warning switch assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the C9 combination meter assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
(e) Reconnect the unlock warning switch assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)
(a) Remove the front door courtesy light switch (driver side).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(c) Reinstall the front door courtesy light switch (driver side).
NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE) - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the D11 front door courtesy light switch (driver side) connector.
(b) Disconnect the C9 combination meter assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
(e) Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch (driver side) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
6. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (INPUT WAVEFORM)
(a) Move the shift lever to the neutral position.
(b) Jack up the vehicle.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(d) Check the voltage while the wheel is turning slowly.

HINT
The output voltage should fluctuate up and down as shown in the diagram on the left when the wheel is turning slowly.

8. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the parking brake switch assembly.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(c) Reinstall the parking brake switch assembly.
NG -- REPLACE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the P6 parking brake switch assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the S1 brake actuator assembly connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
*1: for Vacuum Booster Type
*2: for Hydraulic Booster Type
(d) Reconnect the brake actuator assembly connector.
(e) Reconnect the parking brake switch assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Replace the brake actuator assembly with a new or a known good one Removal.
OK:
The operation of the parking brake warning buzzer returns to normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
