Applicability

Introduction

In a limited number of early production 2012 model year single cab Tacoma vehicles equipped with a bench seat, the vehicle may exhibit a condition where the SRS warning light may be ON intermittently and/or may store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0151, "Lost Communication with Airbag ECU". An updated Center Airbag Sensor Assembly has been developed to address this condition.

NOTE
This condition and/or the presence of DTC U0151 will NOT affect SRS operation.

Required Tools & Equipment

Repair Procedure

1. Using Techstream, verify that DTC U0151 is present. Is DTC U0151 present?

^ YES - Proceed to step 2.

^ NO - STOP, this bulletin does not apply. Diagnose the specific conditions reported by the customer following the Repair Manual.

2. Replace the Center Airbag Sensor Assembly.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

3. Verify normal operation of the SRS warning light.
