Fig. 12 Checking Charcoal Canister Shut-off Valve W/Hand Vacuum Pump:

1. Remove hoses from the charcoal canister valve.
2. Connect vacuum pump to the small hose connection on the valve, Fig. 12.
3. Blow air into large opening. Air passage should be blocked.
4. Apply vacuum to valve.
5. Blow air into large opening again. Air passage should now be open.
6. If valve does not operate as outlined, replace valve.
