Clutch: Adjustments
***THIS ARTICLE INCLUDES CHANGES MADE BY TSB # 308801, DATED MAY 18 1988***.CAUTION: Clutch freeplay adjustments must be made at the adjusting disc, not at the sleeve. Failure to do so will break sleeve.
Clutch Cable Adjustment:
1. Depress the clutch pedal several times.
2. Raise the clutch release lever at the transmission by hand until resistance can be felt.
3. Adjust the clutch freeplay by turning the adjusting disc, until clearance between the cable's plastic flange and the transaxle housing is at 12.0 mm (15/32 in.).
4. Hold the adjusting sleeve and tighten the locknut against the sleeve. Freeplay at the clutch release lever should be at approximately 6 mm (1/4 in.).
5. Torque clutch cable locknut to 4 - 6 Nm (36 - 48 in lb).
