The drive plate (2 versions) installation procedures for the above listed vehicles in the Repair Manual (Microfilm) is incorrect.
Only use the procedures in this bulletin when installing a drive plate in one of these vehicles.

Note
Identify which drive plate version is installed before proceeding.
Old Version
Drive plate with thicker disc -1-, install using new bolts
Chamfer on base of disc must point toward the drive plate
- Tighten bolts to 30 N-m (22 ft.lb.)
- Measure dimension -a- at 3 points and calculate the average value
Must be 31.3 +/- 0.7 mm
If NO
- Install shim(s) -2- until specified value is obtained
- Tighten bolts to 60 N-m (44 ft.lb.) + an additional quarter turn (which can be applied in stages)
New Version
- Drive plate with thicker shim -2- (next to crankshaft) and thinner shim -1-, install using new bolts
- Tighten bolts to 30 N-m (22 ft.lb.)
- Measure dimension -a- at 3 points and calculate the average value
Must be 31.3 +/- 0.7 mm
If NO
- Exchange shim -2- with thinner shim -1-
- Tighten bolts to 60 N-m (44 ft.lb.) + an additional quarter turn (which can be applied in stages)
