Condition

Wind noise from sunroof area.

Cause

Sunroof seal pressure between roof opening and sunroof insufficient

Production

Roof opening measured and seal sized to opening prior to installation.

Service

- Check sunroof for proper adjustment.





- To prevent wind noises, adjust height at front and row as shown in illustrations.

- Front height adjustment:
a = 1 mm lower than roof
Arrow = direction of travel

- Rear height adjustment:
b = 1 mm higher than roof
Arrow = direction of travel

If adjustment OK, continue:





- Locate area of leakage and ensure that the sunroof saw is not damaged.

- Move sunroof position to gain access to area of air leakage from underside if possible. If not possible, remove glass panel.

- Insert tapered trim roller US 9000 into groove "A" on underside of sunroof seal. Roll tool back and forth in area of left while changing angle of tool in order to expand groove "A".





- Expand groove in area of leak far enough to ensure a snug fit within the roof opening.

- Open and close the sunroof a few times to compress the seal. If the groove for the seal has been expanded too far, compress the seal by hand before closing the roof.
