For complaints where the remote control mirror will move freely but will not adjust in one or more directions, proceed as follows:
- remove knob, boot, and hex nut from mirror control
- fasten a wire approx.. 600 mm (24 in.) long securely to mirror control
- remove screws securing mirror to outer door panel and remove mirror only far enough to allow work on control assembly
- inspect control assembly for displaced cables (arrow)
- reinstall cable end in retainer and crimp retainer securely with vice-grip pliers (arrow)
Note
All four cable retainers should be crimped at this time.
- feed mirror control assembly back into door using wire as a guide
- install hex nut, boot and knob
