Final Drive Oil Seal

Final drive oil seals, replacing (Transmission Installed)

- detach axle shaft from flange and hang up with wire

Note
On left side, remove lower ball joint from control arm and move axle shaft to one side

Note
Do not damage ball joint boot




- take circlip off and pull out flange



- remove oil seal



- fully seat seal

Note
Fill space between sealing lips with multi-purpose grease



- install drive flange
- install thrust washer so that the lugs catch in the grooves of the tapered ring
- install circlip into groove
- install axle shaft and tighten C.V. joint bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft lb)
- install ball joint and tighten ball joint clamping bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft lb)
- check all fluid levels
