Condition
Discolored exterior plastic trim parts.
Note
When evaluating discolored plastic exterior trim parts, the following conditions may be present:
^ wax or cleaner residue in surface grain
^ fading/chalking due to UV exposure
Service
^ rinse with water to remove loose dirt and grit
CAUTION
Before using any chemicals or cleaning compounds, carefully read all of the cautions and medical information on the container.
WARNING
Fire Hazard. Do not smoke. Keep open flame or anything away that could ignite flammable cleaning agents.
^ clean trim discolored with wax or cleaner residue with a soft rag moistened with a plastic/rubber cleaner
^ rinse thoroughly with clean water
^ apply plastic protectant (Car Brite "Super Kote"(R) or equivalent)
Note
Plastic trim which is moderately faded due to UV exposure can be improved with repeated applications of a plastic protectant as described above. Plastic trim which is severely discolored due to UV exposure MUST be replaced.
