1 - Clean all hydraulic line connections and the surrounding areas thoroughly before loosening
2 - Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover~ Always use lint-free cloths
3 - Carefully cover or plug opened components if repair is not going to be done immediately
4 - Install clean parts only
^ do not remove replacement parts from packaging until just before installation
^ do not use parts that were stored unpacked
5 - When hydraulic brake system is opened:
^ do not use compressed air in area
^ do not move vehicle unless absolutely necessary
General notes for repair work
Before working on the ABS System, switch off ignition and disconnect battery ground strap. Also, the pressure in the reservoir (high pressure) must be reduced by pressing the brake pedal frequently (approximately 20 times), until a clearly noticeable increase in pedal effort occurs.
ABS is maintenance free, however when working on vehicles with the ABS System note the following:
^ before doing any welding work with an electric welding device, disconnect ABS control unit connector
^ the control unit cannot withstand temperatures from paint drying oven or heat lamp greater than 95° C (203° F) even for a short time or a temperature of 85° C (185° F) for more than two hours
