Steering Difficult/Insufficient Power Assist

1. Hydraulic oil level too low/oil loss. Check system for leaks and repair, fill fluid reservoir to ``MAX.''
2. Power steering pump defective. Check feed pressure, replace pump if necessary.
3. Steering gear defective. Check system pressure, replace Steering gear if necessary.
4. Air in hydraulic system, hose connections loose. Tighten hose connections.
5. Front end alignment incorrect. Align front end to specifications.
6. Power steering belt tension incorrect. Adjust drive belt tension, check belt/pulley for damage.
7. Front wheel/wheel assembly out of balance. Correct imbalance.
8. Steering gear mounting loose. Tighten steering gear mounting.
9. Bearing in steering column switch defective. Replace bearing.
