Power Steering Pump Pressure Check

1. Disconnect pressure line from pump, then install adaptors VW 1402/1A, VW 1402/2 Disconnect pressure line from pump, then install adaptors VW 1402/1A, VW 1402/2 and US 1074/4 A, as necessary, and pressure gauge US 1074B or their equivalents. Ensure valve on pressure gauge is in open position.
2. Start engine, and if necessary, top up fluid in reservoir.
3. With engine running at idle, close valve on gauge and check pressure. Do not leave valve closed for longer than 5 seconds or damage may occur.
4. If pressure is not within specifications, replace power steering pump.
