Hall Effect Sensor: Service and Repair

Ignition Distributor:

1. Remove the distributor from the cylinder head. Refer to IGNITION SYSTEM.
2. Remove the distributor cap.

Ignition Distributor Components:

3. Place the distributor in an appropriate holding device and drive out the pin, which is located in the clutch.
4. Carefully pull the distributor shaft out along with the rotor, dust shield, and the shutter wheel as one unit.

CAUTION: The rotor is glued to the distributor shaft.
Do not misplace the shims or washers.

5. Remove the Hall sender retaining screw and lift out the Hall sender.
6. Reinstall in the reverse manner.
