With A/C
- The heating and ventilation controls are located in the center of the dashboard. The two upper levers control air distribution by regulating the opening of the defrost and footwell outlets. Air flow through dashboard vents can be controlled by operating the vents individually.
- A rotary switch is used to operate the fresh air blower at three different speed settings. The bottom lever is used to control the interior temperature.
- The A/C control head consists of two parts. The upper part controls vacuum distribution and the lower part is for temperature control. The lower part ocntains a vacuum switch for the fresh air/recirculation servo and temperature regulating flap servo.
- When the temperature control lever is moved to the cold (blue) setting the vacuum switch is open. This supplies vacuum to both the fresh air/recirculation flap servo and temperature regulating flap servo. As a result, the fresh air/recirculation flap closes to outside air and the temperature regulator flap closes so that no air flows to heater core. In addition, the heater control valve is closed via a cable connection to the temperature control lever.

5 Temperature regulator flap vacuum servo
- Vacuum applied = temperature regulator flap closed. No air flow to heater core.
- No vacuum = temperature regulator flap open. Air flow through heater core.
