Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On models with A/C, Install engine/transmission support VW 10-222 or equivalent to support engine.
3. Remove bolts from engine mount support, lower nut from rubber engine mount, then clamp screw.
4. Remove engine mount support and rubber engine mount.
5. On all models, disconnect electrical leads from starter solenoid, then remove clip.
6. Remove starter motor mounting bolts, then the starter motor.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
