Crankshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

REQUIREMENTS
Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM).
Test Connector kit VW 1594 or Equivalent.
Refer to Tools and Equipment for test equipment specifications

TEST PROCEDURE

- Disconnect harness connector from sensor.

- Switch digital volt/ohm meter multi meter to ohms range.

- Connect multimeter to terminals 1 and 2 of sensor harness using adaptor leads from VW 1594 adaptor kit.

- Resistance between terminals 1 & 2 must be 500 - 700 ohms.

- Connect multimeter to terminals 1 or 2 and 3 of sensor harness using adaptor leads from VW 1594 adaptor kit.

Resistance must be infinite ohms.
