This bulletin contains revised procedure for creating the Readiness Code. This information supercedes the procedure found in your current Repair Manual and will be integrated during the next Repair Manual update.

Note:
Work Steps 5 (Leakdown Detection pump checking) and 7 (Secondary Air Injection) do NOT apply to current production vehicles for model year 1996.








To display Readiness Codes the VAG 1551 Scan Tool must meet the following requirements:

^ Must have a 5.0 (or higher) Program Card installed

^ Must be properly encoded with the Workshop Code
