Checking Heated Rear Window

Required for troubleshooting:
- Multimeter Fluke 83
- Connector Test Kit VW1594
- Valid wiring diagram

Before starting troubleshooting, battery negative terminal (-) must be securely tighted.

Prerequisite:
- 541 Fuse 12 (30A) located on multiple fuse-adapter below fuse/relay-panel OK!
- Supply voltage (battery-voltage) OK!

CAUTION!
DO NOT damage, enlarge or bend connector terminals or cavities by forcing probes into them when performing electrical checks. Always use connector test kit VW 1594 to make the necessary electrical connections.

Preparation:
- Remove cover from the relay panel
- Remove upper trim panel from tailgate.

After repairing malfunction check function of heated rear window.
