Component Notes And Information

NOTE:
^ During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.
^ Brake master cylinders and brake servos from different manufacturers are installed. Complete master cylinders and brake servos can be replaced independently of each other.
^ For additional information during removal, refer to pedal cluster removal. Service and Repair

1 Seal
- For brake servo
2 Self-locking hex nut,
- Tighten to: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
3 Mounting bracket

- For brake servo
5 Seal
6 Brake servo
- On gas engines the vacuum required is taken from the intake manifold
- On diesel engines a vacuum pump is required to create the required vacuum
- Booster functional check
Depress brake pedal several times with engine not running, to relieve vacuum.
Depress and hold brake pedal while starting engine.
If booster function is OK, pedal will drop slightly as vacuum builds and boost takes effect.
- If faulty replace complete.
7 Sealing ring
- Always replace
8 Self-locking hex nut
- Tighten to: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
9 Brake master cylinder
- Cannot be repaired
- If faulty, replace complete.
10 Sealing plug
- Moisten with brake fluid and press into reservoir
11 Seal
12 Cap
13 Brake fluid reservoir
14 Non-return valve
- Functional check
It must be possible to blow through valve in direction of arrow
It must NOT be possible to blow through valve in direction of arrow
- If faulty replace complete
