Clutch System Bleed

CAUTION: Before bleeding, the brake fluid reservoir must be filled between the MIN and MAX markings with brake fluid. Also, the master cylinder must be bled first, then the slave cylinder.

Bleeding Unit:

1. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system using brake filling and bleeding unit VAG 1238/1 or VAG 1238B. If neither is available, use a suitable brake pressure bleeder.
2. To bleed the system, use bleeder hose VAG 1238/B or equivalent. Approximate length of hose should be 670 mm (26.38 in.).
3. Connect the bleeder hose to brake bleeding unit collector bottle "A" pressure hose.

Bleeder Hose:

4. Connect the bleeder hose to slave cylinder "B" and open bleeder valve.

CAUTION: Ensure that the bleeder hose remains properly seated during the bleeding process.

5. Depress the clutch pedal several times after completing the bleeding process.
