Basic Setting (Function 04)

The basic setting should be initiated after performing the following repairs:
- Replacing engine
- Replacing engine control module
- Replacing throttle valve
- Adjusting throttle valve (setting idling speed).
- Replacing throttle position sensor -G69-
- Altering throttle position sensor -G69- setting, e.g. when adjusting closed throttle position switch (engine)
- Replacing transmission control module -J217-

- Connect Scan Tool VAG 1551 and enter address word "02 transmission electronics" and advance until "Select function XX" appears in the display.

- Press buttons -0- and -4- to select "Initiating basic setting" function 04.

NOTE: The accelerator pedal must remain in the closed throttle position.

- Press button -0-, -0- and -0-.
- Confirm entry with Q button.

The system is now in basic setting.

- Depress accelerator pedal as far as kickdown and hold in this position for 3 seconds.
- Press button ->.
