Erase DTC Memory (Function 05)

Requirement:
- DTC Memory checked.

After DTC Memory has been checked:

Indicated on display:


Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX


- Press keys -0- and -5-. (To select function 05, "Erase DTC memory".)

Indicated on display:


Rapid data transfer Q
05 Erase DTC memory


- Press -Q- key to confirm input.

Indicated on display:


Attention!
DTC memory was not interrogated.


NOTE:
- If the ignition was turned off between checking and erasing the DTC memory, the DTC memory will not be erased.
- Follow the sequence of operations, i.e. always check the DTC memory before attempting to erase it.


Indicated on display:


Rapid data transfer ->
DTC Memory is erased!


(DTC Memory will be erased approx. 5 sec. after the display appears.)

The DTC Memory is now erased.


NOTE: Wait about 1 minute before checking the DTC Memory again.


Indicated on display:


System cannot be interrogated!


Print out with printer turned on:


1 DTC recognized!

System cannot be interrogated


System (Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J217-) given insufficient time to recognize malfunctions.

- Wait about 1 minute before checking DTC Memory again.
- After checking and erasing DTC Memory, test drive vehicle and check DTC Memory again.

When the DTC Memory is checked, the following display should appear:
"No DTC recognized!"
