Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

Function

With ignition switched on sliding/tilting sunroof is opened and closed by turning rotary switch or tilted and closed through pushing and pulling switch..

After switching off ignition siding/tilting sunroof can be opened or closed until their drivers or front passengers door is opened.

On rotary switch re are marks for preset opening positions of glass panel. Any or intermediate opening sliding position can be selected by turning switch clockwise.

In switch position - 1 -, opening of slide/tilting sunroof in so-called comfort position decreases driving wind noise which can occur at complete opening in switch position - 2 -.

Sunroof is equipped with a closing force limit in area of window. When an obstruction is met during closing sequence, roof opens again by itself.

In addition, re is an emergency close function. If re are problems closing, sunroof can be forced closed by pressing preselector, which must be located in "sunroof closed" position.

For emergency close function, closing force limit is deactivated.







Sunroof drive motor is protected against overheating via a running time limit. protective mechanism activates after an uninterrupted operation of approx. two minutes. It can only be operated again after a cool-off phase.
