Headlights, Removing And Installing

Removing

- Remove front turn signal housing







- Apply masking tape to front end trim areas -A- and -B- to protect paint Work while removing headlights.
- Disconnect electrical connector.







- Remove cap -arrows- from upper mounting screws.







- Remove three mounting screws -arrows-.







- Pull headlight housing sideways (outwards) and detach from retainer -arrow-.


NOTE: When removing headlight, it may be necessary to press/move the front grille trim slightly to the side for clearance.


- Carefully remove headlight forwards, turning slightly if necessary.

Installing
- Apply masking tape to front end trim areas to protect paintWork while removing headlights.
- Carefully insert headlight into opening.


NOTE: When installing headlight, it may be necessary to press/move the front grille trim slightly to the side for clearance.







- Push headlight sideways (inwards) onto retainer.







- Install screws -arrows-, tightening torque 3.5 Nm (31 in lb) and check headlight installation position for even gaps in relation to front end trim.

If it is determined that headlight to front end trim gaps are uneven, correct installation position.
1 - Cap
2 - Screw, 3.5 Nm (31 in lb)
3 - Adjustment bushing
4 - Basic setting 3.5 ± 2.5 mm

Proceed as follows:







- Loosen the three screws -2- until the headlight housing can be moved back and forth easily in the adjustment bushing -3-.
- Align gaps by screwing the adjustment bushing -3- in or out with a 17 mm wrench.
- Tighten screws, 3.5 Nm (31 in lb) -2- and recheck gaps. Repeat adjustment if necessary.







- Install caps -arrows- onto both upper screws.
- Connect electrical connector.
- Install front turn signal housing.
- Check headlight aim.
