- Remove intermediate pinion -2- for front final drive from transmission housing.
- Remove drive pinion -3- (input) from output shaft.
Drive pinion -1- (output) remains on drive pinion.
- Drive seal out using drift.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, when installing note the following:

- Slide seal onto 3403 thrust piece.
- Drive seal in with 3403 thrust piece onto press piece stop.

Note: Contact surface -A- of press piece must lie on the input pinion -B-.

- Completely cover splines on end of shaft (arrow) with adhesive tape, making there are no folds or butt ends, so that seal will not be damaged when sliding on drive pinion (input).
- Install drive pinion (input) centrally on input shaft.

Installing the drive pinion (input) without using great care can damage the sealing lips of the seal.

- Slide drive pinion -3- (input) together with intermediate pinion -2- up to stop (tapered roller bearing seat) in transmission housing.
Observe installation position of gears (pinion): gear markings (arrows) face outward away from transmission
- Install intermediate flange for front final drive.
