Steering Column Switches, Assembly
CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
- After reconnecting battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio.
- Special safety precautions apply to vehicles equipped with airbags.
1 - Airbag/cover for horn plate
2 - Hex nut
- 67 Nm (49 ft. lb.)
3 - Steering wheel
4 - Spacer
5 - Screws
6 - Switch: turn signal, cruise control system, high/low beam and headlight flasher
7 - Switch: windshield/rear window wiper and wiper/washer
8 - Trim-upper part
9 - Trim-lower part
10 - Column tube
11 - Steering column
12 - Support ring
13 - Steering column lock housing securing bolt
- 10 Nm (89 in. lb.)
14 - Steering lock housing
15 - Ignition/starter - switch
- Remove steering lock housing, then remove securing screws
16 - Lock cylinder
17 - Spring
18 - Clamping washer
