Ignition System: Diagrams

System Component View Chart:




1 ECM harness connector.
only disconnect or connect with ignition switched OFF.
Unlatch to disconnect.
2 ECM mounting screws.
3 Engine Control Module J220*.
location: Engine compartment, left of battery.
For Fuel injection and Ignition system, Throttle Valve Control. Module, Oxygen control, knock control, EVAP canister purge regulator valve, speed governing via injectors or fuel pump relay and On Board Diagnostic.
If replaced, perform Basic setting.
Control Module, coding.
4 Oxygen sensor (after cat) G108*
50 Nm (37 ft lb.)
location: in catalyst.
Grease threads with G5; do NOT allow G5 to enter slots.
Oxygen sensor and Oxygen control.
Sensor heating Voltage supply via fuel pump relay J17.
5 Heated Oxygen sensor (before cat) G39.
50 Nm (37 ft lb)
location:
In catalyst.
Grease threads with G5; do NOT allow G5 to enter sensor slots.
Oxygen sensor and Oxygen control.
Sensor heating Voltage supply via fuel pump relay J17.
5 Oxygen sensor heater.
6 Engine Coolant Temperature sensor G62*-blue, 2-pin.
Release cooling system pressure before removing (if necessary).
7 Retaining clip.
Ensure it is securely seated.
8 Thermostat housing.
9 O-Ring,replace if damaged.
10 Connector.
11 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
12 Engine Speed sensor G28.
location: cyl. block by intake.
13 3-Pin harness connector.
White
For Engine Speed sensor.
14 4-Pin harness connector.
Black
Mounted to sub-frame.
For Oxygen sensor and Oxygen sensor heating (before cat).
15 4-Pin harness connector.
Brown
For Oxygen sensor and Oxygen sensor heater (after cat).
