Tailgate Lock (wagon), Assembly Overview --> 09.00







1 - Lock cylinder carrier
- Lock cylinder can only be removed in conjunction with carrier.

2 - Nut
- 7 Nm

3 - Handle trim
- Lock cylinder carrier, removing.
- Disconnect harness connector for license plate light.
- Remove nuts - 2 - and remove handle trim from tailgate.

- Installing:
- Installation is reverse of removal.

4 - Handle
5 - Push button
6 - Pop rivet
- Pull in using Pop rivet tongs V.A.G 1765 B

7 - Base for license plate
- Press on only on hatched area.
- Replacement part has two foils. first foil covers adhesive surface, second must be removed after installing.

8 - Operating rod
9 - Lock
- Removing.
- Remove trim for tailgate.
- Disconnect harness connector from lock.
- Unclip operating rod - 8 -, Remove bolt - 10 - and remove lock from tailgate.

- Installing:
- Installation is reverse of removal.

10 - Bolt
- 23 Nm

11 - Positioning motor for central locking system
- Removing:
- Lock cylinder carrier, removing.

- Unbolt positioning motor and remove.

- Installing:
- Installation is reverse of removal.

12 - Motor to unlock rear lid V139
- Only USA

13 - Nut
- 7 Nm

14 - Actuator lever
