New Window, Preparing For Glazing

Preparing new windshield and rear window for glazing







New windows are supplied pre-coated with PUR. The pre-coating consists of items 1, 2 and 3.
1 Sealing lip
2 Spacing lip
3 Area for application of adhesive bead
4 Window glass
- Rub down pre-coating with a dry cloth which is not fluffy.


Warning!
Do not prime pre-coating and do not treat with cleaning agent.







- Apply a thin coat of activator D 181 801 A1 only on pre-coating -2- of the window using applicator -1- D 009 500 25 (felt ball with wire).
- Allow activator to air dry for at least 10 minutes.


NOTE: Activator must not have contact with paint, otherwise the paint finish will be damaged.


Preparing new side window for glazing
- Clean window edge all round to width of 30 mm with cleaning solution D 009 401 04 and rub dry with lint-free cloth.


Warning!
Ceramic coating on window is not primer! It must be primed before application of adhesive sealing compound! Use only primer D 009 200 02!







- Apply primer -2- evenly in one stroke using applicator D 009 500 25 -3-.
- Drying time approx. 10 minutes
