Notes:

- For performing repair work, secure engine to VW313 assembly stand using 3269 or VW540 holding fixture together with VW54011B auxiliary pieces.

- If large quantities of metal particles or other deposits (caused, for example, by partial seizure of the crankshaft or connecting rod bearings) are found in the engine oil, the oil passages must be cleaned thoroughly, and oil injection jets, oil check valve, oil cooler and oil filter insert must be replaced in order to prevent further damage from reoccurring.
