Reading Measuring Value Blocks

Read Measuring Value Block (Function 08)
- VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) with VAG1551/3 Adapter

Test requirements
- Coolant temperature must be at least 80°C, See Display group 04, display field 3
- All electrical consumers like, for example, lights and rear window heating must be switched off.
- If vehicle is equipped with an A/C system, it must be switched off.
- For vehicles with automatic transmission, selector lever must be in -P- or -N-.
- There must not be any DTCs stored in DTC memory.

Procedure
- Connect VAG1551 scan tool (VAG1552). Start engine and select the Engine Control Module (ECM) using address word 01, connecting scan tool and selecting ECM. [1][2][3][4][5]Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool

- Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "Read Measuring Value Block" function 08. Press Q- button to confirm input.

- Select desired display group number.

NOTE: Display group number 1 is used as an example to indicate procedure.


- Press buttons -0-, -0- and -1- to select "Display group number 1". Press -Q- button to confirm input.

- If specified values are obtained in all display fields, press -> button.

NOTE: Measuring value blocks not described in this chapter are under development and production at the moment. Indicated values are not relevant for troubleshooting in service stations.
