Screen Separator Wall, Retrofitting

NOTE:
- The required parts must be ordered via Parts Catalog. Note respective vehicle equipment (with/without sun roof).
- Edge of luggage compartment cover for vehicles with screen separator wall is slightly cut at transition to screen separator wall. The existing luggage compartment cover can continue to be used only with limited operation.

Special tools and equipment







- Pop rivet tongs V.A.G 1765 B







NOTE: Retaining strip - 1 - for left seatback is different from retaining strips - 2 - for right seatback - arrows -.

The required mounting points for the retaining strips of the screen separator wall are on the seatback.

- Fold down both backrest parts.
- Determine outer mounting point for the respective retaining strip by inserting scriber according to the specified dimensions.
- Bolt on retaining strip. Use retaining strip as template, pre-punch both mounting holes and screw in bolts. Tightening torque: 5 Nm

Right retaining strip







Dimension - a - = 9.5 cm
Dimension - b - = 5 cm

Center retaining strip







Dimension - a - = 7 cm
Dimension - b - = 5 cm

Left retaining strip







Dimension - a - = 11.5 cm
Dimension - b - = 5 cm







- Attach screen separator wall - 1 - with openings - arrows - to right and center bracket - 2 - and slide to the left until it engages.
- Fold up both seatback parts until they lock.







- Slide locking pins of screen separator wall toward left and mark point of contact on left luggage compartment cover - arrow -.







- Place hole (dia. = 20 mm) in trim (e.g. hole circle saw) and press collar - 1 - in existing body hole.







- Remove molded headliner.
- Pull internally threaded pop rivets M8 X 11 - 1 - into present holes - 2 - on front mounting points (in front of interior light) for eyelet using Pop rivet tongs V.A.G 1765 B.
- Install front bracket - 3 - on both sides with four bolts each - 4 -. Tightening torque: 23 Nm







- Pull internally threaded pop rivets M8 X 9 - 1 - into present holes - 2 - on rear mounting points for eyelet using Pop rivet tongs V.A.G 1765 B.
- Install rear bracket - 3 - on both sides with four bolts each - 4 -. Tightening torque: 23 Nm
- Install molded headliner and secure only front and back. (Do not install B and C-pillar trim, grab handles or door inner seals).







- Work out cut-out in molded headliner - 1 - for front eyelet - 2 - on both sides using workshop tools.
- Install front eyelet - 2 - on both sides using bolt - 3 - and press cap - 4 - into head bolt. Tightening torque: 23 Nm







- Work out cut-out in molded headliner - 1 - for rear eyelet - 2 - on both sides using workshop tools.
- Install rear eyelet - 2 - on both sides using bolt - 3 - and press cap - 4 - into head bolt. Tightening torque: 23 Nm
- Install molded headliner and trim completely.
