Backrest, Removing And Installing

NOTE: Removing and installing of backrest for Recaro seat is described for left side of vehicle. The same instructions apply for removal and installation of Recaro seat backrest for the right side.

Removing
- Remove Recaro seat.
- Remove belt buckle.
- Remove trim, backrest mounting bracket.
- Remove side seat trim.







- Disconnect wiring harnesses (seat heater and side airbag) from seat frame.
- Unscrew bolt - 2 - (23 Nm) each on both sides of seat.
- Unscrew bolts - 5 - (23 Nm) on both sides of seat.
- Pry backrest frame - 1 - on both sides out of bushes - 7 - in seat frame - 4 - using screwdriver - 3 -.

Installing







Installation is the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
- Bolts - 2 - and - 5 - must always be replaced after removing backrest.
- Bolts - 2 - and - 5 - may only be threaded in when all bolts are positioned.
- Note that bolts - 5 - on vehicle interior side are longer than on vehicle outside.
- Bracket - 6 - is only installed on outside.
