Engine, disassembling and assembling
Part I
1. Control housing
- Check control housing strainer for soiling before installation.
- Lightly oil contact surface of sealing ring before installing
2. Bolt: Tighten to 8 Nm
3. Crankshaft roller chain
- Mark direction of travel (installation position) before removing
4. Exhaust camshaft adjuster
- Identification: 32A
- Only rotate engine with crankshaft adjuster installed
5. Intermediate shaft.
6. Thrust washer
7. Bolt: Tighten to10 Nm
- Insert with safeguard material "D6"
8. Tensioning track
- For camshaft roller chain item 3
9. Pivot pin, Tighten to 18 Nm
- For tensioning track item 8
10. Chain adjuster, Tighten to 40 Nm
- For camshaft roller chain item 3
- Only rotate engine with chain adjuster installed
11. Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking
12. Chain sprocket
- For camshaft roller chain item 3
13. Bolt: Tighten to 8 Nm
14. Chain adjuster with tensioning track
- For roller chain item 16
- Before installing, use a small screwdriver to release tension of locking splines in chain tensioner and press tensioning track against chain tensioner
- Only rotate engine with chain adjuster installed
15. Drive pinion
- Integrated into crankshaft
- milled tooth to bearing separating gap = TDC cyl. 1.
16. Roller chain
- Mark direction of travel (installation position) before removing
17. Glide track
- for roller chain item 16
- Remove and install together with roller chain.
18. Bolt without collar
- Tighten to 10 Nm
- for glide track, item 17
19. Pin: Tighten to 20 Nm
- for glide track item 23
20. Bolt: Tighten to 23 Nm
- for glide track item 23
21. Bolt: Tighten to 60 Nm + 1/4 turn (90 °)
- Always replace crankshaft adjuster bolt
- Contact surface of sensor wheel at bolt head must be dry when installing
- To remove and install, counter-hold at crankshaft using an open-end spanner (32 mm 3)
22. Intake crankshaft adjuster
- Identification: 24E
- Only rotate engine with crankshaft adjuster installed
23. Glide track
- for camshaft roller chain item 3
24. Valve -2- for camshaft adjustment -N208-
- For exhaust camshaft
25. Valve -1- for camshaft adjustment -N205-.
- for intake camshaft
26. Glide track
