Erase DTC Memory (function 05)
Requirement:
^ DTC memory checked.

After DTC memory has been checked:





Indicated on display:
^ Press keys O and 5. (The function "Erase DTC memory" is entered with 05.)





Indicated on display:
^ Confirm entry with key Q.





Indicated on display:
If the ignition was switched off e.g. between checking the DTC memory and erasing DTC memory, the DTC memory is then not erased.
^ Adhere strictly to the sequence of operations, i.e. first of all check DTC memory.





Indicated on display:
(The DTC memory will be erased approximately 5 seconds. after the display appears.)

The DTC memory is now erased.

Wait about 1 minute before again checking the DTC memory.





Indicated on display:





Print out with printer switched on:
Control module -J217-was not given sufficient time to recognize malfunctions.
^ Wait about 1 minute before again checking the DTC memory.
^ After checking and erasing the DTC memory, carry out a test drive and again check the DTC memory.

When the DTC memory is checked, the following display should appear:
"No DTC recognized!"
