Note:
The 1.9L TDI engine (Eng. code BEW) requires and must always use a special synthetic engine oil that expressly conforms to Volkswagen Oil Standard 505 01.
The only engine oil which currently meets the standard is Part No. G 052 167 A2, (a special 5w-40 synthetic motor oil), available at authorized Volkwagen and Audi Dealers.
All scheduled Volkswagen services and topping off of engine oil between services require G 052 167 A2 engine oil only.
No other engine oil may be used in this engine unless it conforms to VW Oil Standard 505 01.
Engine damage caused by using the wrong engine oil will not be covered by the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
