Cooling System Components (Engine Side)



Engine codes AVH, AZG






1. Hose to expansion tank, upper
2. O-ring
- Always replace
3. Hose to heat exchanger
- Replace if damaged
4. 4-pin harness connector
- Wiring cavities 1 and 3 for G62
- Terminals 1 and 3 are gold plated
5. Engine - Coolant Temperature sensor G62
- For engine control module
- With engine coolant temperature gauge sensor -G2-
- Release cooling system pressure before removing
6. Retaining clip
- Check securely seated
7. From heat exchanger
8. Coolant pipe
9. Hose to - Transmission cooler
- For vehicles with automatic transmission
10. 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
11. Hose from expansion tank, lower
12. O-ring
- Always replace
13. Connector
14. Hose to upper radiator
15. Hose from lower radiator
16. Oil cooler
17. 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
18. Engine - Coolant thermostat
- Checking:
- Heat up thermostat in water
- Opening starts at approx.: 86 °C (187 °F)
- Opening ends at approx.: 102 °C (216 °F)
- Opening lift: 7 mm (0.28 in.)
19. Camshaft drive belt
- Mark engine direction of rotation before removing
- Check for wear
- Do not kink
20. Coolant pump
- Check shaft for ease of rotation
- If damaged or leaking replace complete assembly
21. Camshaft drive belt guard, rear
22. 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
23. Throttle Control Module
- Without cable disc for accelerator cable because of E-Gas system
- Heated by engine coolant
